MapleStory Monsters

Part 1

MapleStory Monsters can be your worst enemy but are needed to gain experience and/or mesos and items. The more Monsters you are able to defeat the faster you can level up, but defeating Monsters is not always a simple process, especially when you go up against the boss monsters which are the hardest to beat because of their special privileges.

A Maple Story Monster Guide will get you familiarized with the Monsters’ strengths and weaknesses and you can use that to your advantage when attacking. The MapleStory Monster Guides also teach you about Monster attack skills which will make you a lot more successful in battle once you are more familiar with the monsters and their capabilities.

With the help of a Maple Story Monster Guide you’ll be amazed at how much more skillful and efficient you are at defeating them. Part 2

The adventure of a player as he goes through the different levels of the game is made more exciting and challenging as he does battle with monsters which abound each and every screen. Killing monsters will give the player the necessary experience, mesos and items which he may use during the course of his journey. Each experience gained is automatically added to the player’s total experience, whereas the mesos and items are dropped at the location where the monsters are killed and will have to be picked up by the player. Items dropped by the monsters upon their deaths are monster leftovers (a piece of the monster), ores, equipment, quest items and usable drops. Stronger monsters (those on a higher level) give more experience points when killed and they drop larger amounts of mesos. They also tend to leave behind more sellable and usable items.

The monsters inhabiting the beginner island, Maple Island, Cheap Maple Story Mesos are known for being suited best to characters which belong to levels below 10. In Victoria Island, monsters are pitted against those players who have reached levels higher than 10. Stronger monsters can be found in Ossyria, making it a prime location for high-leveled characters to train.

Strengths and Weaknesses

All monsters have a defense rating that is used to counter both the physical and magical attacks. For instance, a "Sentinel" is substantially armored compared to other monsters in its level range. It has a better defense against weapon attacks which then makes it hard for most characters near its level to launch a sufficient attack. Magicians, on the other hand, are less adept at killing monsters which employ magic defense including "Luster Pixies", who enjoy lesser vulnerability against magical attacks. Other monsters have elemental strengths and weaknesses that make them, more or less, defenseless against certain elemental attacks. A case in point is the "Fire Boar", who is weak against ice-elemental attacks, yet strong against fire-elemental attacks.

Monster skills

Some monsters use certain skills on characters for a particular range attack. These may include: Sealing, which locks the players' skills so that they will be barred from using them; Darkness, decreases accuracy of the players; Weakness, which disables the players’ jumping ability; and Curse, which halves the experience points of the players. There are, however, ways of countering these. One is by the use of potions while another is by employing the skills of a priest to dispel these effects.

Some monsters also have skills to increase or improve their own attributes or those of the other monsters’ around them. For example, "Stone Golems" and "Lunar Pixies" can increase their weapon defense while “Fairies" can temporarily increase the defense of their fellow monster.

Boss Monsters

Many boss monsters can be found throughout the MapleStory world. Each is located in its own respective map and usually at the end of a very long road or hidden map. Boss monsters spawn less frequently than normal monsters. A "Mushmom" spawns every forty minutes to 1 hour. Even though it is the third weakest among the bosses, Mushmom is very much hard to fight and it is only those players in the level forty and above who attempt to kill it. Other bosses are the “Jr. Balrog”, which can be seen at the very end of the Sleepywood Dungeon; “Papulatus”, also known as the “Clockboss”, can be found at the end of Ludibrium Clock Tower; The "Rombot", also called "Lombard", is the second weakest of all of the bosses and spawns once in every hour.

(IMAGE: MONSTERS>"ZAKUM")"Zakum" is a boss monster found only in a level fifty and above. It has among its arsenal, the ability to attack with ice, fire, lightning, HP and MP drainage. It can also attack using poison-based weapons. Being a boss, it can summon other monsters as well. It has eight arms, each having a life of its own. As such, players must kill the arms first before attacking its main body. The main body has three forms and it increases in difficulty as you kill each form. Also, each arm is capable of healing all its other parts. Killing bosses may be more difficult, but the gains are greater. Bosses usually drop enormous rewards, such as mushmom spores, zakum helmets and various level 80+ items.

The newest and most recently added bosses to the Global version of the game, which came with the release of Omega Sector, are the "Chief Gray", and the "MT-09".

This is a general FAQ to help you settle into the Maple Story world. It
answers alot of FAQs that newbies are always asking in the game. And it
contains explanations and tips on things you'll need to know for lv 1-20

I played Maple Story for about 5 months, but I've quit because I'm so busy
with uni work and other commitments. Cheap Maple Story Mesos I had a lot of fun and this guide
should still be relevant for quite some time. I hope you find it useful.

0. GET THE RIGHT START
============================

To get the right start you have to think ahead, decide which job you will
take before creating your character. To make this FAQ compact, job
descriptions are not included. Refer to the official Maple Story website
for job information and skills. (http://www.mapleglobal.com)

Warriors will level fast as Beginners, but in later levels (15-27 approx)
Warriors level up slower than other jobs.

Thieves will level normally as Beginners, but in later levels (15-27 approx)
Thieves level-up slower than other jobs (unless they have good stars).

Bowmen will level normally as Beginners.

Magicians will level slowly as Beginners, but after becoming a Magician
and learning a few skills (claw lv 9 for example) they will level quite
fast. Magicians are quite powerful in the first and most of the second job,
however in the third job, I've heard that the other classes are stronger

============================
1. YOUR CHARACTER
============================

For each account, three characters can be made in each server. These
characters share a common storage (or bank). And so items and mesos (money)
can be safely transferred from character to character, if the characters
are in the same server.

Each server has the same maps and monsters, but sometimes they have
different events (Check the website for notices). Unfortunately a character
created in one server cannot exist in another server. However each server
usually has 20 Channels each, and your character can easily switch from
channel to channel within the same server.

If you want to delete a character, you have to remember the birthday that
you put in you sign-up. To change your password, you need your last name.

How Do You Make A Girl Char?
----------------------------
Your character will be the same gender as what you put in your sign-up. It
can't be changed.

----------------------------
1.1 Statistics
----------------------------

!!! TIP - It is important to know which stats to increase. Otherwise, you
may find that you don't have the required statistics to wear your armour or
weapons in the HIGHER LEVELS. I made this mistake and wasn't able to wear
my proper armour at level 20 because I didn't have enough STR as a Warrior.
And at level 30 I didn't have enough LUK as a Bandit to wear my dagger.

Which Stats For Job Advancement?
----------------------------
Warrior level 10 35 STR
Thief level 10 25 DEX
Bowman level 10 25 DEX
Magician level 8 20 INT

Which Stats For Later?
----------------------------
Warrior STR and DEX (more STR)
Thief LUK and DEX (more LUK) **
Bowman DEX and STR (much more DEX)
Magician INT and LUK (much more INT)

Each job only needs to apply Ability Points (AP) to only two types of
Abilities as shown above. For example, if you are a Warrior, don't place
any AP into LUK or INT.

Magicians, if you keep missing monsters, do not put any AP into DEX,put
it into INT to increase your accuracy.

** Thieves do not need strength, unless they are STR Bandits. LUK Bandits
use daggers that require no STR, while STR Bandits use daggers that require
a small amount of STR. If you are unsure, you can put 10 points into STR by
level 20 and see if you like being a STR Bandit.

AP can also be used to increase HP and MP. I suggest not doing this. HP and
MP will increase with every level-up without you adding AP to it.

Rolling The Stats Die
----------------------------
!!! TIP - Before creating your character, make sure it has good stats. If
it hasn't got stats that you are pleased with, you can click on the red die
to get new stats.

Good stats would have 4 or 5 in the abilities that your job doesn't need.
But if you can't get good stats, it's OK. But since you can roll the die as
many times as you like, you may as well try a few times.

2 PLAYING THE GAME
============================

----------------------------
2.1 Basic controls
----------------------------

Switching Channels Press Menu, Change Channels
Chat Box Make sure you press the little '+' sign at the
bottom centre of your screen to see what has
been said more clearly
Healing Find a safe place and stand still for awhile
Recovering MP MP regenerates automatically.
Pick up items Press Z
World Map Press W
Inventory Press I
Statistics (AP) Press S

For more controls click on your Key Settings at the bottom right of screen.
My favourite control is F5.

----------------------------
2.2 First Few Steps
----------------------------

In the first screen, you will see two Non-Player Characters (NPCs).
Talk to Heena, she will explain BASIC MOVEMENT. She will ask you to
do something, say YES.

This is a quest, you don't have to complete it, but if you do, you will
be rewarded. In this case, the reward will be 1 experience point. It
never hurts to say YES to a quest so always say YES.

If you accepted the quest, don't press up at the portal (the place with the
glowing light from the ground). Talk to Sera, she will give you a mirror.
Then go talk to Heena, she will take you to the next screen/map.

In the 2nd screen, a creepy looking guy called Roger will take away some of
your health! Press I to open your Inventory, click the USE tab, then
double-click the Apple. Talk to Roger again, he'll give you 3 Red Potions.
You can HotKey the potions by dragging them from your Inventory into one of
your Quick Slot keys (bottom right corner of your screen).

In the 3rd screen there's another simple quest. In the 4th screen talk to
Peter, he'll give you some experience.

Where Did You Get That Hat?
----------------------------
Soon you will see Maria, she'll give you an easy quest, if you complete
her quest she'll give you a hat (a bandana or skullcap).

Where Did You Get That Weapon?
----------------------------
Talk to Biggs in South Perry, You'll need 30 Blue Snail Shells and 10
Orange Mushroom Caps. If you complete this quest, you will receive a lv 5
Razor, or a lv 8 Fruits Dagger.

For Orange Mushroom Caps, go to the map to the right side of Amherst. At the
top centre of this map you will be able to kill the Orange Mushrooms easily
by standing on the centre platform, where you can attack the Mushrooms
without being hit by them. Magicians can skip this quest if it is too hard.

----------------------------
2.3 Items
----------------------------

Pick up everything especially mesos, ores, potions, armor and weapons. Items
such as Snail Shells, Mushroom Spores and Mushroom Caps can be sold to any
store for mesos. Arrows are worth 0 mesos to stores, so you may as well pick
them up and give them to an archer later when you reach Victoria Island.

What Are Ores For?
----------------------------
Ores are used in creating Jewels or metal Plates, which are used to create
items later in the game. Keep all the ores you find and talk to the NPCs in
Victoria Island to find out which ores you will need later to make items.
All other ores you may either keep or sell to other players.

Picking Up Items
----------------------------
!!! When you kill a monster, YOU are the only person who can pick up the
items that the monster drops after it dies. If you don't pick up the items
after about 10 seconds, ANYBODY may pick up the items. And if you drop an
item from your Inventory, anybody can pick it up and you shouldn't expect
to get it back.

When two or more people help kill a monster, usually the person who killed
it the most is allowed to pick up the items. The other person won't be able
to pick up the item unless it has been left there for about 10 seconds.

Looting
----------------------------
When you see someone busily killing monsters and not picking up their items
for a long time, after about 10 seconds, anyone can pick up those items,
looting is when someone else picks up those items.

Looting is ok when a person is only interested in gaining exp. and not
money. If you never see them picking up items, even after you have picked
up a few of their items, then there is no problem. If you start picking up
some items and the person killing, also begins picking up the items, then
you should stop, and let them get their items.

Once, a Beginner accused me of looting from her when she helped me kill a
monster. I didn't loot from her, the item belonged to me. If she had killed
the monster completely, then I wouldn't have been able to pick up the item
so soon after the monster died, if the item had belonged to her... NOOB

How Much Are Screws? (as of July 2005)
----------------------------
These prices are from what I have seen in Scania, they are the usual amount
other players in Victoria Island are willing to pay for these items.
NOTE: The prices may change.

Ores 1k (1000 mesos).
Steel Ores 1k, sometimes 1.5k or 2k.
Diamond Ores 7k sometimes 3k sometimes 10k
Gold Ores 10k
Black Crystal Ores (BC) 13k sometimes 15k
Screws 1.5 - 2k each
Leather 150 - 200 mesos each

Item Library
----------------------------
The Item Library on the official websites don't really cut it. For a
detailed item, monster, quest and map library, visit www.hidden-street.net

----------------------------
2.4 Hunting
----------------------------

Beginners that plan to become Magicians should hunt in the Snail Hunting
Ground I or II on Maple island, this map is full of Green and Blue Snails.
Probably best to stay here until you reach level 8. You can do Maria's Hat
quest and then come back to this map to level up. I suggest not doing Biggs
quest because it will take a long time to collect the items for someone so
physically weak. But of course if you really want to do it, no problem.

If you find it hard to level-up, keep killing those Green and Blue Snails.

Monsters In Maple Island
----------------------------
Name HP EXP. Advice
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Green Snails 8 3 Great for Beginners and Magicians
Blue Snails 15 4 Great for Everyone
Shroom 20 5 Great for Everyone
Red Snails 45 8 Beginner Magicians shouldn't waste
time on these
Orange Mushrooms 80 15 These are tough for Beginners,
you'll kill 4 Blue Snails faster
for MORE exp. AND THEY MOVE FAST.
You'll find a lot of these to the
right of Amherst

Other Easy Monsters In Victoria Island
----------------------------
Name HP EXP. Advice
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stump 65 8 Easier to just kill 2 Blue Snails,
(unless you can kill in 3-5 shots
it's not worth going for)
Slime 50 10 They move fast
Pig 75 15 They move fast
Dark stump 250 18 They move slow
Ribbon Pig 120 20 They move fast

Kill Stealing
----------------------------
Kill Stealing (KS or ksing) is when someone weak is trying to kill a
monster to gain exp. Cheap Maple Story Mesos and a stronger player will come and kill it and steal
exp. It's not such a problem in Maple Island because everyone is a
Beginner, so this is a good place to train.

============================
3. VICTORIA ISLAND
============================

You can leave Maple Island anytime you like. You'll need 150 mesos for the
ship ride from South Perry. When you leave you won't be able to come back.

Maple Island is a nice place to level-up. I suggest leveling here or near
Lith Harbour until you are ready for your job advancement. Places near
Henesys are also good for Beginners to train.

!!! I suggest not exploring the other towns while you are a Beginner and a
newbie, go level up and get a job first, then go exploring. (Beginners
wanting to become Magicians will not train as fast near Perion, Ellinia or
Kerning, unless they stick to Green snails, because Slimes(50HP) and
Stumps(65HP) take forever to kill when you are doing 1-3 damage).

When you die, if you have a job, you'll lose about 5-10% exp. and you'll be
transported to the nearest Town. If you have your Mini Map extended
you'll be able to see an icon. The icon represents the nearest town.

Talk to every NPC that you see, this way you will probably find out if they
are useful to you. For example some NPCs synthesize items, refine ores,
store things, process wood, create screws, create arrows or give quests.

-----------------------------------------------------------
#### WARNING TO BEGINNERS IN LITH HARBOUR and ELLINIA ####
-----------------------------------------------------------
How Do You Get Out Of Here? What Is This Place?
----------------------------
!!! Do not take a ride in the black VIP TAXI to the Ant Tunnel. You will
end up in a place not for Beginners at all. When you die (There's no way
you won't die), you'll find yourself in Sleepywood, the town in the Dungeon.
To get out of here, you'll have to buy a Return Scroll to Lith Harbour from
someone for 500 - 1000 meso. Even if someone is nice enough to give you a
scroll for free, you'll have wasted 1000 mesos on the VIP TAXI ... DONT
TAKE THE TAXI. I don't know why they allow Beginners to have a discount on
this Taxi, it just means a lot of confusion.
----------------------------
3.1 First Job Advancement: Where Do You Go?
----------------------------

After you have trained to the required level, talk to the ticket guy in
Lith Harbour or a white Taxi in another town, he will take you to the town
you need to go to, for 80 - 120 mesos (very cheap discount price for
Beginners only).

---Warriors--- at Perion, go to the very top of the map and enter the
portal talk to the NPC Dances with Balrog.

---Thieves--- at Kerning City, enter the Jazz Bar in the centre of the map,
go down the ladder and talk to the NPC Dark Road.

---Bowmen--- at Henesys, near the centre of the map, enter the park and go
to the far right and enter the building to talk to the NPC Athena Pierce.

---Magicians--- at Ellinia, go to the very top and enter the portal and
talk to the NPC Grendel the Really Old.

Buying Weapons And Clothes: Can Someone Spare 3k?
----------------------------
!!! When you make your job advancement, you should buy new armour in your
home town. By this level, you will probably not have enough mesos to buy
everything you want, so deal with it :/ you have a job, go earn the money!

Firstly buy a new weapon, then topwear and bottomwear, if you have enough
mesos, buy a hat and then shoes. If you can't afford everything, don't
worry, you really only need the new weapon. If you can't afford that, you
probably didn't pick up all the mesos that your monsters dropped did you?
Well in that case, you've just got to fight some more monsters with what
you have until you have enough mesos.

!!! Don't Beg. You are a Beginner (or were), of course you're poor! You
have to work at your job to become rich. This game can be challenging, but
it's not too hard, so don't be LAZY go hunt some monsters to find some
money and gain exp. And while you're at it meet some players and have fun.

How Should I Spend My Skill Points?
----------------------------
!!! TIP - By the time you reach your second job advancement, you will not
have received enough Skill Points (SP) to master all the skills available
to you. So, you'll have to spend those points wisely. Find an In-Depth FAQ
for your job to find out how to spend your SP.

How Do You Use Skills?
----------------------------
Press K to spend your skill point. If you use your Skill Point on a skill
that uses MP, drag the Icon into one of your Hot Keys, or open your Key
Settings and drag it into there.

How Do You Throw Stars?
----------------------------
You must be a Thief and you need to wear a Claw. The first claw is called
a Garnier and can be bought from the Kerning City Weapon Store. Buy some
Subi Throwing stars from the guy selling armour. Now you can throw stars
using your attack button.

If you are too close to a monster, you will punch it instead of throwing
a star at it (I find this annoying). Punching will do very little damage.

============================
4. PARTIES
============================

----------------------------
4.1 Creating Parties
----------------------------

Once you get a job, you will be able to create a party.
- Press R
- click on the 'Party' tab
- click 'Create'
- Right-Click on a person
- Select 'View Info'
- Click 'Invite Party' once

There can be up to 6 people in a party. To leave your party, click Leave.
You will not be able to invite someone who is already in a party. They will
have to leave their party before joining yours.

Party Chat
----------------------------
When you are in a party, press 2 to talk to members in you party. The chat
text will appear in pink. You will be able to talk to members that are in
different maps or channels. Press 1 to talk to everyone again.

----------------------------
4.2 Party Experience
----------------------------

Generally:
- Experience is shared among all party members that are in the same map.
- If you kill a monster you will get more exp. than the other party members
will get for that kill.
- Higher level members will receive more exp than the lower level members.

In parties, mesos are shared but items are not. Items can be picked up by
anyone in a party.
Pan2005: Mesos In A Party - For 2 Members --> 60% For Collector & 40% For
Other Member. For more than 2, the ratio will be a bit different, but still,
the Collector will be getting most.

One problem with parties is who gets to keep that rare piece of armour worth
50k? The person who killed the monster that dropped it? Sure, but what if
they helped you kill it? I was once in a party where I completely killed the
monster that dropped the rare item and I managed to pick up the item too,
but the other party member begged me if they could have it. I personally
don't like parties, but they are useful sometimes. You don't need to join
parties to make friends though, just start talking to people.

Party Experience Example 1
----------------------------
Let’s say we have a 2-person party with 2 lv 10 players.
Slimes give 10 exp. if you kill them completely by yourself.
In a party if you kill a Slime, you'll get something like 6 exp. while
the other member in the party will get 4 exp.

Party Experience Example 2
----------------------------
Another 2-person party, 1 person lv 35 the other lv 8.
If the lv 35 kills a Green Mushroom, they will get the entire 26 exp.
points and the lv 8 will get 0 exp.
If the lv 35 kills a Slime, they get 9 exp. and the lv 8 will get 1 exp.

============================
5. GENERAL TIPS
============================

----------------------------
5.1 Sleepywood, Ant Tunnel, Ossyria And Florina Beach
----------------------------

Sleepywood is in the Dungeon, the easiest way is to walk from Henesys. But
I recommend being level 17-20 before visiting. Make sure you have a Return
Scroll to Henesys or some other town before you go, just incase you find the
place too tough for you to get out again. Sleepywood Return Scrolls can be
bought in the Sauna in the Hotel in Sleepywood.

To walk to Sleepywood from Henesys, take the top right portal at Henesys to
get onto Warning Street. Keep traveling right, and avoid the dangerous
monsters at the bottom of those pits. Eventually you'll find Luke the
Security Guy, take the portal that he's standing near. You'll enter a
Forest, here the top portal will take you towards Kerning City and Perion,
while the middle portal will be Sleepywood. Don't take the bottom portal
unless you are lv 25+ because there are Curse Eyes here. Also, the bottom
portal is one of those tricky portals, like a Pig Beach, where the only way
to get back, is to travel through the map and reach another portal.

Ant Tunnel is just right of Sleepywood. The monsters are tough here for low
level players.

Ossyria is another place and the website suggests that you be lv 35, this
is a good guideline. But if you want to visit out of curiosity I recommend
lv 25+, but the monsters will be tough! You can go there from Ellinia, it
cost 5k and make sure you have 5k to get back. Bring lots of potions to go
exploring. Since MP pots are slightly cheaper in Ellinia, don't forget to
stock-up before leaving to Ossy.

Tip from lilkrndude146: The armour and weapon shop in El Nath (a town in
Ossyria) is expensive for some items. You'll probably do better buying the
items off other players back in Victoria Island. Hopefully by the time you
reach the levels to be buying this stuff, you'll have some experience in
buying and trading items off other players (at sensible prices).

Florina Beach is a little island with tough monsters. It cost 1k to get
there from Lith Harbour. You'll need 1k to get back.

----------------------------
5.2 Hunting Effectively
----------------------------

If you like fighting in crowded places where the monsters re-spawn quickly,
fight monsters that only need 1-2 shots to kill (maybe 3). If you take any
longer you'll become surrounded by too many monsters.

If you like less crowded places, where there's only you or one other person,
there will be less monsters. This will mean more walking, but you can kill
the monsters slower, so go for monsters that die in 2-4 shots. - Warriors
and Bandit Thieves may like to kill monsters that take up to 6 shots.

To level-up faster, use potions (pots). Less waiting will mean more killing
and more exp. Make sure you pick up all your items and mesos if you can't
afford pots. On the other hand, if you're using pots up like crazy, and you
don't seem to be making a profit, you're fighting the wrong monsters
(or you're just crap :P) - MP pots are slightly cheaper in Ellinia.

----------------------------
5.3 Return Scrolls: Selling All Town Scrolls 1k
----------------------------

Return Scrolls, are great and are much cheaper than a Taxi (unless you're
still a Beginner). After getting your first job, and acquiring some money,
walk around Victoria Island and visit all the towns and buy a Return scroll
from each town. On the way, you can explore, try to find hidden portals and
kill a few new monsters.

Return Scrolls cost 500 mesos at shops. And they can be used in almost all
maps, so they are more convenient than taxis.

Taxis are not available in Sleepywood. So buy a Return Scroll before
visiting, otherwise you may have to pay 1k to buy one off someone. I used
to always be in Sleepywood selling Return Scrolls for 1k =) .

----------------------------
5.4 Fame: What Is Fame For?
----------------------------

Fame is used for higher levels. There is a quest at level 30 that requires
10 fame, and some high-level armour requires a certain amount of fame to
wear. If you're poor, don't bother trying to buy fame, you don't need it
yet. Save your money for armour or potions.

from Pan2005: The kinds of equipment that use fame are usually black or
are called Dark 'something'.

You can't fame someone until you're lv 15. You can only use your fame once
a day. And you can only fame the same person once a month.

Higher-level players like to buy fame. They may offer you 1 - 6k for your
fame. If you need money, sell your fame. Currently the normal price for fame
is 5k. People may also offer items for fame such as 20 leathers or 4 ores.

To fame someone for items or money, right-click them and select 'View Info',
then press 'Request Trade'. Keep the Info box open. When they accept your
trade, and agree to give you the money or items for your fame, you click the
Orange Up Arrow to increase their fame, while the trade box is still open.
Then they will give you your money. Press the Orange 'Trade' button to
accept their money or items

Fame nor LUK has nothing to do with rare item drops.

----------------------------
5.5 Trading
----------------------------

To request a trade with someone right-click them and View Info, click on
'Request Trade'.

If someone requests a Trade with you, be nice and say 'Hi' or 'Hello'.
Responding with 'Yes?' or 'What?' just seems rude to me.

Good places to buy or sell items are at towns. The best town for this is
Perion. Visit Perion Channel 1 for the biggest market, here it may be hard
to click on people, so instead type '/trade username' to trade with someone.

Visit Perion Channel 1 and just watch everybody trade. Sometimes you'll see
the prices of various items. Occasionally these prices will be over the top.
But just watch for a few minutes while you regain your health and you will
learn alot about trading and prices. It's not a bad idea to do this every
now and again after you reach lv 30. If Perion Channel 1 is too full, try
Channel 2.

============================
6 QUEST ADVICE
============================

After you've done these quests, there are plenty more which are only
accessible by reaching a certain level. Visit www.maplesea.com for more
quests (shows more quests than mapleglobal).

Strangely, all these quests are pretty hard for the level that you can begin
them at, except John's quest. For all the others, you'll have to level-up
alot more to finish them without help. You'll probably be lv 25+ when you
finish all of them... :/

----------------------------
6.1 Quests For Beginners
----------------------------

Fixing Blackbull's House
----------------------------
Talk to Blackbull in Perion.

Items Needed: 30 Branches, 50 Firewoods.

Prize: lv 15 Steel Shield (most times) or a lv 25 Triangular Shield.

Branches will be easy to get from Stumps. Firewood can be found from Axe
Stumps and Dark Axe Stumps. Don't go for the Dark Axe Stumps they have 550
HP. If you're a warrior, try this quest at lv 14, so that you have a shield
for lv 15. All other classes, don't worry about this quest until you can
kill Axe Stumps easily.

The shields can only be used by Warriors. If you're not a warrior, you can
sell the lv 15 shield to a shop for 3k. The lv 25 shield should be sold to
a warrior because it can't be bought from any store in Victoria Island.

----------------------------
6.2 Quests For Level 15+
----------------------------

Maya and the Weird Medicine
----------------------------
Talk to Maya in the Mushroom House in Henesys

Needed: 20 Octo Legs, 50 Squishy Liquids, 50 Leaves, 40 Charms of Undead

Prize: level 25 Brown Bamboo Hat

Since you can't use the prize until lv 25, you can take your time.

You'll need to travel a lot for this quest, Maya will want you to get
Medicine by talking to Teo in Lith Harbour, He'll tell you to go see
someone else and so on ... :/ Octos are found near Kerning City, Leaves are
dropped by Dark Stumps found near Perion, Squishy Liquid dropped by Slimes.
Charms of Undead are dropped by Undead Mushrooms found in the Ant Tunnel in
the Dungeon, they are not easy to kill by low-level players.

Luke the Security Guy
----------------------------
Talk to Luke at the Entrance to the Dungeon from Henesys.

Items Needed: 1 Bowl of Salad, 10 Stirge Wings, 100 Jr. Necki Skins

Prize: 1 Refined Jewel at random (Diamond if you're lucky)

This quest is tough! There is no time limit on quests. Most Magicians,
Thieves, Bowmen can't hit the Jr. Necki until lv 27+. Warriors will have to
wait even longer.

Jr Neckis are little green snakes, found in the Subway, Sewer, and in some
parts of the Dungeon. Stirges are purple bats found in the Subway and Deep
Ant Tunnel. Bowl of Salad can be bought (A Use Item) from the 24Hr Shop in
the Deep Ant Tunnel.

John's Pink Flower Basket
----------------------------
Talk to John in Lith Harbour

Items Needed: at least 10 Pink Viola Flowers

Prize: 30 Screws

This is the first of MANY jumping quests. If you can become good at this
quest, you'll be able to do all the other jumping quests. So have patience
and practice a lot, when you get tired, take a break, fight some monsters,
then practice some more. Pink Viola's can't be traded.

Buy a couple of Return Scrolls to Lith Harbour at Lith Harbour. Go to
Sleepywood, then buy some Sleepywood Return Scrolls from the Sauna and talk
to the Mysterious Statue. After getting the flowers (double-click on them),
scroll back to Lith, give the flowers to John. If you didn't get 10 flowers,
scroll back to Sleepywood and do it again.
NOTE: buying the Scrolls is optional, you can walk if you're too tight!

After you complete the quest, you can go to the Mysterious Statue and do
the jumping quest again and again. Each time you reach the flowers you'll
randomly receive 2 mineral ores (no gold).

When you reach lv 30, you'll no longer be able to receive the 2 ores from the
Forest of Patience Stages 1 & 2. You'll have to do John's lv 30 quest instead,
where you'll do Stages 3 & 4.

Nella and Kerning City Citizen's Requests
----------------------------
Talk to Nella in Kerning City

Request 1: 1000 Mesos, 50 Green Mushroom Caps, 50 Bubbling's Huge Bubbles
Request 2: 5 Processed Woods, 5 Screws
Request 3: 100 Octopus Legs, 1 Pure Water.

Prize 1: 50 Lemons
Prize 2: 100 Cakes
Prize 3: level 20 Gloves for your job

Bubblings are in the Subway in Kerning City. The Bubblings may be difficult
to kill. Try this quest at lv 19, maybe even lv 25.

When you complete the first request, talk to Nella repeatedly, don't leave
until she gives you the second request. (Just keep clicking on her, don't
listen to her lies!)
Talk to JM From Tha Streetz and select 'Create Materials' to find out how
to make Processed Wood and Screws. You probably won't have the materials
to make screws, so either do John's Flower Quest to get 30 screws, or buy
them off people for 1.5k or 2k each.

Talk to Nella repeatedly after completing the second request.

Pure Water can be bought at Sleepywood or 24Hr Shop in the Ant Tunnel. Octos
can be found at both Kerning City Construction Sites and near the Kerning
City Entrance to the Dungeon Forest.
When you reach lv 25, Nella will have 3 more requests for you.

Maple Story Insider Tips

Maple Story Insider Tips If you want to get anywhere in the world of MapleStory Europe, you'e going to need show off your skills. It's not enough for a wapler??that's somebody who regularly plays MapleStory ?to simply tool themselves up with decent weapons and armour in their quest for fame and fortune. To beat the toughest challenges that regularly face every Mapler you'e going to need a broad range of skills and abilities too, and that's where MapleStory's impressive skill system comes into practice.
As with everything else in MapleStory, the emphasis has been to create something simple and user-friendly, so those not familiar with the MMORPG genre can pick things up straight away, yet at the same time, still maintain enough depth so that more experienced gamers are kept entertained throughout. The result is a truly amazing skill system that stands out from every other free-to-play MMORPG currently available.
Learning New Skills
MapleStory Europe currently boasts over 80 individual skills to choose from, divided into separate categories by character profession. This ensures new Maplers are never overwhelmed by too much choice to begin with, while still allowing plenty of scope for variety. For instance, Beginners ?the profession that all new characters start as ?have access to just three basic skills to help introduce the concept; one offensive (Three Snails), one defensive (Recovery) and one passive (Nimble Feet). This then increases to a much larger range of skills once players gain some experience and specialise as either Warrior, Bowman, Thief or Magician, and even larger still once they progress to the next level of job specialisation.
Some of the skills are passive and designed to improve your offensive or defensive capabilities, such as the Thief's been Eyes?ability. Others are more proactive and must be physically activated?to be used. The Magician's energy Bolt?skill for instance, unleashes powerful magic bolts every time you tap the keyboard (and conveniently, MapleStory lets you map skills to any key of your choosing).
In every case, the effectiveness of your skills is based on how well trained you are in that particular ability. Every time you gain a level in MapleStory you will be awarded a handful of Skill Points to spend on your growing range of skills and abilities. The more points you spend on a skill, the more powerful it becomes; simple. There's even a basic skill-tree?system, with certain more powerful skills only becoming available once a particular level has been reached in a previous skill. For example, Bowmen can only start learning the useful range-increasing eye of Amazon?skill once they'e reached level 3 in the previous skill, 態lessing of Amazon?
Mastering Skills
As players only receive a few Skill Points to distribute every time they level up, you will need to think carefully about how to spend them when it comes to developing your character. Do you aim to specialise in aggressive, offensive skills ?or do you opt to concentrate on more passive, ability buffing skills? Alternatively, you can always try spreading your skill points evenly across a number of different skills. Each method has its own pros and cons, although we find most Maplers tend to concentrate on Mastering each skill in turn ?in other words, building each skill up to its maximum possible level before moving on to the next.

While many players have commented to us how much they enjoy MapleStory's easy and approachable skill system, one of the biggest points of feedback we'e received is from people who put their experience into one particular skill, only to decide they rather be accomplished in a different area instead. That's why you will soon be able to buy Skill Point Reset tokens from the game's Cash Shop. These let you transfer points that have already been allocated from one skill to another, giving you even more flexibility over how your character develops.Buy Maple Story Mesos
Staying Skilled
However you want to play MapleStory ?whether it's fast and aggressive, or laid back and friendly ?we'e ensured a range of skills that matches each and every player's requirement of an entertaining and playable MMORPG. More importantly, we'e constantly adding new skills to the game as we increase the number of jobs available ?players can expect another 60 or so skills when the third level of job progression is unveiled in the coming months. And as is always the case with MapleStory, every update, along with the entire game itself is completely free, forever!

Guide to How to Live A Non-Regretful Maple Life!

Sorry for the late thank you, -Hime-. DX Thank you for pinning this.

Hello, lads and gals, welcome to the unofficial *cough* guide of how to live a non-regretful Maple life! SERIOUSLY!Maple Story Mesos
Now, let us begin:
People have been getting scammed, hacked, ect. Now, how can you get out of that trapped trail, and unto the Maple life of no regrets? I am here to warn people, since I have my own regrets in Maplestory (and other MMORPGs). Let us begin! Pay attention please. :]
Scams: One of the Most Regretful Incidents EVER
Scams... When there are good people, there are bad people! Here's how to prevent a scam:
If someone tells you "Drop Your Item and press [insert pathetic ways to close your Maplestory window] to duplicate it!" don't do it, but, some people actually believe this. <.<;;
Never drop trade, not trustworthy.
If you are unsure about the price (like a set of Tobis for 100k) check Basil Market before doing any trades. V~V Sorry mods if I am breaking a rule.
If someone tells you "Selling NX", don't play along with the dude.
Now that, let us move unto another subject:

Hacks: Worst Things Ever Invented!!!

Do not trust any websites that "offer" Free Nexon Cash. Because, they'll just offer a virus (ex: keylogger, Trojan)
Never trust anyone who is offering to pin crack you.
If a hacker is on the map, try taking a screenshot and report him/her and leave ASAP.
Never trust "Meso Generators" sites.
***EDIT*** Thank you lolimatheif for saying this... if you're friends have played Maplestory on your computer, make sure you scan your computer if they installed hacks! And make sure to say to your friend, "Stop hacking."
Demonhawk:

(Unquote)
You should edit this.
1. Do not trust any websites that "offer" free Nexon cash, mesos, powerlevelling, or duplication of items (oldest trick in the book) and require ANY account information. And NEVER accept any hacks, as

This is illegal and you are breaking the TOS
Heard of autoban? Even if the hacks work you'll get banned after 10 seconds of hacking.
Trojans will forever haunt your cpu that you paid major money for.
They come, they report, they leave, you deserve it for trying to get hacks
And NEVER GIVE YOUR ACCOUNT INFORMATION AS THEY MAY USE THIS AS PAYMENT for whatever you wanted to get. You MIGHT however get your account back, with an absence of all items and mesos, and maybe characters.

MESO GENERATORS DO NOT EXIST, THEREFOR IT IS GUARANTEED THAT THESE SITES ARE SCAMS. The ONLY site that can give out mesos and won't be a scam is NEXON.NET and they never give out mesos anyway. Mesos levels are SERVER SIDE, and that means it is IMPOSSIBLE to hack mesos directly. It's as easy as HACKING YOUR CHAR AND MAKING IT LEVEL 200. Unless you have DIRECT ACCESS to the server then it is impossible.

Thank you Demonhawk. =D

Now, done blabbing about hacks, let us look at relationships xP

Need Some Friends?

Try talking to some people (no, this does not include begging for free stuff, you should know that by now!)
Try talking to some people while training.
Party. That is all to say.
Avoid begging for mesos and NX. This will get you defamed.
Avoid KS'ing, this will ruin your reputation.
Avoid using offensive language and racism and sexism.
And most of all, try your best. :]
***NEW!!!! (added on Sept. 1st)

How to Avoid Buying Something in the Cash Shop You Don't Need!!!!

Look at the weapon equipment information. See if it masks over a certain weapon (ex: Claw, bow, crossbow, wands and staff, ect.)
Look at the information by hovering your little glove on the item. (like, you don't know what a tele rock is, look at it and see if you need it)
Plan Out? Plan out outfits before buying, if some time later, you don't like it, delete that and plan out another outfit before making your purchase.
I made this because some people have been mistakenly bought a NX bow equip when they are a magician. And I don't want any people wasting NX. And if you think you can refund, sadly, no, you cannot. All sales are final.

Now, to the newbies:

Never beg for money, stuff, ect. It will affect your reputation to others. And don't scam or hack, it'll just get you banned. And NEVER threaten ANYONE. EVEN NEXON OR WIZET. Cuz, you WILL regret it!

Now side notes xP:

Please play legitely (no hacks, no scams, no offensive language, ect.)

Please pay attention to MapleTips, especially when you are a newbie.

Ask some questions, Albert Einsten says never stop asking questions, it may be annoying, but someone might have the heart to answer.

Never beg for stuff, everyone (well, ALMOST everyone) earned their stuff the hard way, you should too.

Make sure you know what this game is, and how to play it. If you don't... you'll be going through a rough path. D= Ask questions!

In the ini file,Buy Maple Story Mesos under the "[Intervals]" section, just edit the intervals, ez-pz.
Now for the hotkeys, lets say you want An 'F' hotkey, IE : F1, F12.
Then you'd put down the F1, but without the F, so here is a listing:
F1 = 1;
F2 = 2;
F3 = 3; and so on. Just put the number

And if you want a Numpad Hotkey, youd put down NUMPAD1 <~, but replace NUMPAD WITH 9. IE:
Numpad1 = 91;
Numpad2 = 92;
Numpad3 = 93;

Numpad4 is the highest you can go

MapleStory Mipla - Tools for MapleStory (v1.0)

After coming back from a multi-month break, I found that one of the bypassing methods I created in ~.33 had become publicized. First, what is now called 'hook hopping' or 'trampoline'..ing..., became publicized. I merely used it as a test a long tiem ago to see the extent of GameGuard's stupidity("Seriously, just an initial-5-bytes hook? loljumppast"), and continued to use it for experimentation.
After that, I saw a thread by reakw0n requesting help in 'undetecting'(what was really bypassing) his smuggling program. I simply renamed the dll and loaded it locally, worked just fine, as GG scans for API according to DLL name, as opposed to checking for the same API in all DLLs. This was also a method used back when I consistently hacked MapleStory(publicized little on DarkRising's upper UGs I believe)
Anywho, I decided I'd create a program utilizing these two bypasses,Buy Maple Story Mesos as they've been publicized and it will no longer hurt experimentation, as it would have before they'd become publicized. "Fuck it".
The program includes simple MapleStory tools, such as an auto talker, an auto clicker, a smuggler(well, internet disconnection), a simple program opener, a quick startup feature, and an advertisement killer.

I'll probably be releasing alternate GUIs relatively soon - or I may get distracted with the best game in the world and never think about this project again. Either way, I'll be monitoring this thread for bug reports.

Play around with it, I'll answer any questions, and I may add a FAQ to this post for simplicity and repetitive-post reduction.

Known 'issues'(Obviously I didn't care, or I would've changed them):

In VMWare, it'll look like ass. It'll make your MapleStory have a gltchy transparency issue.
It won't save the renaming of your .exe - Simply put, if you named the .exe in the applications list to 'ashdlasd.exe', you're an idiot(unless you can remember what program that is, then you're fine.)
It won't take multi-key hotkeys. Ctrl+F10 for example should fail, as I didn't analyze the TShortCut structure(nor even Google it, or ctrl click it). I might eventually, but, for now, I simply don't care D: I want to play the best game in the world, little edits like this aren't my priority.

My Analysis on the Kerning PQ (Party Quest)

i) Introduction
ii) Getting Started
iii) Stage 1
iv) Stages 2-4
v) Final Stage
vi) Bonus
vii) QUICK
viii) What if someone dies inside?
ix) Being a RESPONSIBLE leader
x) Thanking YOU!

Introduction
Hello!! It's me again. Nope not the "masqued" stranger but Whytemasque. As you would all know, the Party Quest (PQ) requires you to be at least level 21 and must not exceed level 30 to do (If you are in the middle of PQing, and you level to 31, you can still continue). This quest will help you to level in no time. It'll also help you to get items that can maybe...just maybe be sold for millions. The PQ area is located at Kerning City, near the center of the map. (The place where you can see 3 drain pipes)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Getting Started

Okay. Firstly, get yourself into a party of 3 other people. That would mean that there would be a total of 4 people in your party. If one of your party members is offline or at a different place (etc. channel, potion shop), they will not be considered as part of the party. Once you have your party all at the same place, or at least the same map, your party leader will click on Lakelis. Not only once, but many times. As the quest goes by the rule 'First come, First serve'. Do not expect to go in immediately after you have found a party, you might have to wait for many hours before you get in.
Track is a term that is used for finding people. In this case, track is to find out what stage is the current party inside the PQ at. Once you've got a name, just type /find (and then the name). Since there would be a lot of people at the PQ area,
Its really quite hard to see who went in, try writing all their names down. Don't need to be neat, just scribble (DON'T DO THIS FOR YOUR EXAMS). You can also try taking a screenshot of the people at the sewage area. I got this idea from sinister34. Still email me if you still have anymore ideas.

Now AC stands for 'auto-clicker.' Try only using this for PQ as it can get you banned (Botting). But many people there alove to cheat so they use 'auto-clicker'. Right now, I am unsure if 'auto-clicker' is allowed in the game or not. I've heard that the newer versions of it are able to work in the game. However, please do not ask me where to download it as I do not use that 'super cheat' program.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stage 1

Congratulations! You have finally gotten after a while. In the first stage, you must go to the right until you see Cloto. Talk to her and she will ask you a question. You would then have to kill Ligators, to get the coupons, situated at the top (just climb the ropes and you will see them). Questions are:

Level to become Magician (8 coupons)
Level to become other job (10 coupons)
DEX needed to become a thief or an archer (25 coupons)
STR needed to become a warrior (35 coupons)
INT needed to become a magician (20 coupons)
EXP needed to Level 2 from Level 1 (15 coupons)

This information is from hiddenstreet itself. Please don't sue me. Anyway, once you have collected the correct amount of coupons, talk to Cloto again and she will give you a yellow pass in exchange of your coupons. Note that you must have the correct amount. No more nor less.

Once all of your party members have done the exchanging, drop the passes and pass them to your party leader. Your leader will click on Cloto and a big "CLEAR" sign will appear on your screen. Go through the portal and then to the next map. One more thing, your party leader does not need to hunt anything if they don't want to. Before you shout and curse them, remember that they got you in this and they aren't slackers. If you ask them to help you with the coupons, they would most probably help.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stages 2-4

For these stages, it's similar to a guessing game. You must guess the correct combinations to get through. Your party leader will click on Cloto and she will indicate to you whether it's right or wrong.

Stage 2 is a walk in the park. However do note that you cannot hang at the bottom of the rope. Go a little higher, at the top of the rope.

In stage 3, there will be 5 platforms, each platform holding bunnies arranged in the 1, 2 ,3 ,4 ,5 order. Go in combinations :

1-2-3, 1-2-4, 1-2-5, 1-3-4, 1-3-5, 1-4-5, 2-3-4, 2-4-5, 3-4-5.

For stage 4, it's pretty much the same thing, just that there will be six barrels. So guess the correct combinations.

1-2-3, 1-2-4, 1-2-5, 1-2-6, 1-3-4, 1-3-5, 1-3-6, 1-4-5, 1-4-6, 1-5-6, 2-3-4, 2-3-5, 2-3-6, 2-4-5, 2-4-6, 2-5-6, 3-4-5, 3-4-6, 3-5-6, 4-5-6.

Always go in numerical order unless you have supernatural powers to tell what the combination is. Once you have gotten the combination, go through the portal and to the final stage.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Final Stage

In the final stage, you will have to kill 3 curse eyes and 6 Jr. Neckis. Your leader will collect the yellow passes. Once you are done, its time to kill the King Slime. It's a much bigger version of a Slime. It can summons 3 normal slimes when it is about to die, and can do a skill called earthquake, which can take a whole lot of your HP out. However, in order to avoid that massive ton of damage, just jump at the right time. Just be sure you have potions to accommodate the damage. Once it is defeated, you can kill the slimes if you want though many people say that it will give you bad items, which I don't think so. Just ask your leader to get the pass and off you guys go. Pass all the yellow passes to your leader if you have collected any. Your leader will click on Cloto and the portal will be open. Note that you can't go into the portal. Just click on Cloto and she will congratulate you and will enter the bonus stage.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bonus Stage

This is a place where people say that maplers always camp, as in stay inside for very long. Try not to do it. Just kill the monsters inside for maybe 2 to 5 mins and wait for the spy's singnal. More of that below.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

QUICK

QUICK does not stand for anything. It's just a word. Ask one of your party members to come out in the bonus stage and ask him/her to go outside and write down the names of the people outside. A minimum of 2 members (including the leader) must stay inside the map. Ever since the introduction of the ability to pass the leader title to someone else, it makes everything easier and increases your chances of getting in again. Let your party leader pass the title to someone else (prefably one that has a fast computer) and him and another member will stay inside the map. Once the actual leader says he is ready, quickly come out and pass him the leader title as fast as you can.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What if someone dies inside?

Well it really depends who dies in the middle of the PQ. As long as it's not the leader then you can carry on. Your leader will take over the position of the guy that died. But if your leader dies, all of your party member will be immediately sent out of the PQ. And that would be a total waste of effort and time. So make sure your leader has enough pots to stay alive. And if two people die inside the PQ (excluding your leader), you will get kicked out too. Just don't be too happy when your party member dies. However, if the party leader disconnects, the leader title will be passed on to someone else, so no worries.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Being a RESPONSIBLE leader

Don't be too harsh on any new PQ-er. He or she does not really know how PQ-ing is like. Just survive with that person for maybe 1 or 2 rounds of PQ and the person should be fine. Be patient with that person. Refrain from saying things like "Go away you stupid retarded noob." It's very hurting for that person. This would demoralize that person and well, maybe not daring to do PQ again. I mean come on, everyone makes mistakes. DON'T EVER think that warriors are lousy. I hear people say, "Don't pick warriors. They are lousy. Always miss." Just bear with them. After all everyone needs training INCLUDING WARRIORS. When you, the leader, is in the PQ, be organized. Don't let people get a bad impression of you. Be kind and nice to them and they will like you.

=================================================================
1.1 - Introduction

=================================================================
The Ludibrium Party Quest is a great add-on to Maplestory. After passing level
50 I have made a guide to help people (assassins in general) learn to master
their pq abilities just as I have. This PQ is a whole different attitude
that of the Kerning PQ. With higher levels, means more powerful players and
a chance to test your newly gained 2nd job skills. You will be faced with
new stronger monsters, puzzles, more and longer stages, and stages where
teamwork is critical. Throughout these challenges, you can learn to
cooperate and work together for a quicker, cleaner PQ.
=================================================================
1.2 - What is pq
=================================================================
PQ is party quest. It is a quest that can be repeated infinite times for a
certain level range. This quest is not displayed in your quest log, and
takes place in a special group of maps that can be entered through forming
a party. There's a catch though, only one party is allowed in at a time
per channel.
=================================================================
1.3 - Requirements
=================================================================
The requirements to do a Ludibrium party quest are...
Level 35~50
Having a full party of 6
All party members are in Eos Tower Floor 101
=================================================================
1.4 - Is PQ worth the time

=================================================================

YES! a PQ is DEFINETELY worth the 30 minutes or so it takes to complete.
This is an EXTREME save in time training and money wasted on pots. to top
it all off, you get prizes from doing pq.

Is it worth the time to GET IN a pq... thats all up to your leader's
clicking.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
2.Basics of PQ
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

=================================================================
2.1 - Basic pq terms of speech

=================================================================

Since some people didnt do kerning pq much, i made this section to help
those people with pq "slang".

PQ - "Party Quest"

Looking for/Joining pq - "I want to join a party quest"
(lvl 46 sin looking for pq)

Track (noun) - "The name of a person in pq you /find so you know their stage"
(whats the track's name?)

Track (verb) - to type in /find and check the people inside's stage"
(u guys keep tracking and tell me when 8th)

Rush - To exit a party quest and get back in the same channel right away.
(If we try to rush we might miss)

Miss - Another party gets in pq and not yours.
(I saw them go in, we missed)

Solo - Kill by oneself with no assistance. mostly refering to bosses
(I'll solo 1st rombot in stage 7)

d/c - d/c simply stands for disconnect
(One of our members d/ced, go get another)

AC or Autoclicker - AC was a program that clicks automatically super fast.
IS CONSIDERED A HACK AND CANNOT BE USED NOW.
(I heard that guy has ac by using bypass)

=================================================================
2.2 - Parties

=================================================================

The Ludibrium party quest consits of a party with 6 members (the leader
counts as a member). These parties have to be with members levels 35-50.
The party must be in the same room for the leader to click the npc that
takes you in pq. You can join a party by finding people who say
"looking for pq members" and asking them to invite you. Also by you
saying "looking for pq", eventually you will get invited to a party.

=================================================================
2.3 - Going Inside

=================================================================

To enter the Ludibrium Party quest, if you are leader, have a party of 6 and
have them all be Eos Tower floor 101. Make sure they are all lvl 35-50. then
wait for your track to get to "A crack in the wall" here you need to be
ready. As soon as that party reaches Bonus, you click ALOT VERY VERY FAST.

another note... to click very fast, double click the red sign in eos 101
and move the window so the ok button is on top of the sign. then click in
that spot alot.

=================================================================
2.4 - Stages

=================================================================

Ludi pq is longer, unlike the kerning pq. This has 8 main stages, 1 boss
stage, and 2 bonus-style stages (also one exit stage for when you die).

-Stage 1 is killing monsters and collecting passes.
-Stage 2 is breaking boxes and collecting dropped passes
-Stage 3 is breaking boxes, then the boxes summon 3 blocktopus, kill and
collect all the passes.
-Stage 4 is entering darkened rooms and killing special monsters with
different defense capabilities (some magic weak some physical weak)
-Stage 5 is towers you have to climb to break boxes and collect passes
-Stage 6 is a puzzle to get from one place to another (like utah's farm)
-Stage 7 is killing weak monsters that spawn rombots then killing rombots
-Stage 8 is similar to kerning stage 4, exactly same except needs 5 members
and is harder to jump through
-Boss stage is, kill a dirty rat and it spawns the boss alishar. kill alishar,
and give keys (alishar drops) to leader
-Bonus stage is breaking boxes and collecting prizes from them.
-Determine to adventure(2nd bonus) is talk to the npc, and he gives you your
REAL prize of stuff like a scroll.

-the exit stage is when you die or have to leave during pq, you get taken here

=================================================================
3.1 - Party Reccomendations --ALERT! A "MUST SEE" WARNING IN HERE

=================================================================

I reccomend having a party of all lvl 40+. Have at least one cleric and also
one sin (you).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
READ THIS v
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are 3 areas that are REQUIRED to do a pq.

1.A thief with dark sight to do bottom of stage 5
2.A magician with teleport to do top of stage 5
3.An assassin or bowman with maxxed range skill to summon monsters in stage 7.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
READ THIS ^
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

An assassin is GREAT because they cover both reasons 1 and 3. Then also a
cleric is great because wizards are literally useless at boss stage. clerics
cover reason 2 AND can heal the undead monsters that boss summons and heal
the party.

Best jobs for pq:
1. Assassin 40+
2. Cleric 40+
3. Bandit 45+
4. Spearman 45+ (with HB)
5. Bowmen(both types) 45+
6. Fighter 45+ (with or without rage, but preferred if over +5atk)
7. Page 45+
8. Wizard(either) 40+
9. Perma Beginners(lol. this would just be funny)

I'm not saying wizards are completely useless. They can be used in stage 5
in top portal and 4 in the top three portals if you cannot find a cleric.

A quick tip sent by reader:

It is great when a bandit who thought ahead for PQ gets involved. At first a
bandit is the slower of the two, which he is, but after five points into
haste a beautiful skill called steal is unlocked. Yes, beautiful. Yes adding
zounds of points into is a complete waste, but one point is enough to get
a 11% chance to steal an "extra ticket." Let me repeat this an "extra
ticket" this is a ticket that is taken from a living monster. No it doesn't
stop the monster from dropping one at its death too, so what you have is
two tickets from every monster. You may say "oh 11% that will take years."
I don't disagree with you, but it is a percentage making it a wild card. :(
For some strange reason I get a ticket within the first 10 hits, figures
with 11% "you will steal 1 out of every 10 hits." This is just a tip from
a bandit, I am really tired of getting down played and forlorened by every
other job.

-Dont worry dude. Everyone loves both types of thiefs for pq. Both sins
and bandits got power, which helps at Alishar, and Dark sight which helps
at stage 5. ^_^

=================================================================
3.2 - Rushing

=================================================================

Rushing has been eliminated from a fully completed pq. Since another party
can enter during bonus, you can't rush. There are 2 possible ways to rush.
The first is send 3 members out to save names o people incase you miss.
This also might eliminate some parties' tracks. Then when they least expect
it, have your leader exit and try to clik again ALOT and try to get back in.

=================================================================
3.3 - Time

=================================================================

Ludi pq gives you 1 hour to complete, so it will also take longer to do so.
This is more than enough time because an average pq takes from 30~40 minutes.

=================================================================
3.4 - Tracking

=================================================================

The best and most effective way to get a track is to remmber or record names
from previous tracks. Also, take screenshots and later /find each person in
it. After about a week after you start pqing alot, you might be able
to get a track off the top of your head =)

=================================================================
3.5 - Being Leader

=================================================================

Being The leader of a pq takes alot of responsibility. You have to be able
to click very fast to get your party in the party quest. Then you have to
be very experienced in pq to know what and what not to do/make your members do.
You are also responsible for getting the right type of members, like choosing
a cleric over a wizard. When you are in pq you must keep your party
cooperating and not fighting for spots and such.

=================================================================
3.6 - "Help someone died or d/c'ed"

=================================================================

If someone died, dont panic. A party quest might require six to enter, but
only requires 5 to do the stages. You will need 5 to do stage 8. After stage 8
any amount of people can die, except the leader and 1 person.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
4.Assassin's Edge
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

=================================================================
4.1 - Why are sins so good for PQ

=================================================================
1. They are NEEDED to actually complete a pq, unless u wanna waste 2 spaces on
a bandit + bowman 2. because they are so strong and fast, and 3.
because of HASTE!!! These will be explained individually in the next
sections

=================================================================
4.2 - Damage

=================================================================

Yes. Sins are very strong. They can be made even stronger by rich people with
better stars and claws. a lvl 50 sin could possibly do like 3k dmg! A group
of sins lvl 45+ could totally OWN alishar in about 1 minute.

=================================================================
4.3 - Accuracy

=================================================================

This is where accuracy counts. Being able to hit alishar is one of many
places where sins and bowmen triumph over all. An assassin almost never
misses alishar, and have no need for sniper potions. It's all natural
ability :)(except maybe 3x newbies)

=================================================================
4.4 - Range

=================================================================

Range is something very important in pq. Not only in boss stage but it is
used in stage 7. That stage requires max range to complete. You might
say "sure any ol bowman could do that" but read the next section.

=================================================================
4.5 - Jump attack

=================================================================

This (along wth booster) is what makes sins the absolute best at hitting
targets and not getting hit themselves. They cna jump to the target's
range, swiftly shoot a powerful pair of stars, and jump back before
the enemy has time to start attacking.
If you STILL think assassins equal to bowmen in pq read the NEXT section.

=================================================================
4.6 - HASTE!!!

=================================================================

Haste is a skill used by thiefs that makes the party move FAST! this
is why sins are loved the most. Sins get this skill higher usually
before bandits do. Add this to booster and jump attack. Sins are
already so fast, this just makes them even faster.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
4b.Assassin's unique PQ build
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

=================================================================
4b.1 - Why a different build?

=================================================================

Those guides that all say "critical first" i think of them as a
piece of trash. That is TOTALLY not the right way to go, pq or
no pq. This build here is a specialy one for an assassin to be
the best PQ'er he can.

=================================================================
4b.2 - Advantages/disadvantages

=================================================================

This build will allow you to be faster, and more liekd in parties
at lower levels. It is all great except it doesnt exactly let u
do 2k dmg anytime soon. You will stick with 1k then at level 40
or so slowly gain up.

4b.4 - equip-wise

=================================================================

This section explains some equip stuff for the unfunded sin
by unfunded i mean having 5m instead of 30m like most of them

at level 35 get maple claw+7 (u shuld have icys)
at level 40 get adamantium/dark avarice+7 (u shuld have 3 icys)
at level 43 get a kandayo+7(if u got the money only)
at level 45 you should have tobis and perhaps a lower attack w/g
at level 50 you should have a 35 attack any color slain
-and a 4 atk w/g if u can afford (at least 1 tobi too)

at level 55 i had a 35 slain, a 3 atk w/g
as for stars. have 1 tobi, 1/or2 icys, and about 5 kumbis
if u want instead get 3 kumbies and get some mokbis/tops
so u dont run out too much

5. Stage Guide
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just a quick note, this guide is from an assassin's point of view, and
is how to do pq with an assassin.(in this guide, lets pretend u'r the only
thief here so no fighting for spots)
Also, for full understanding, follow the guide in order.
=================================================================
5.1 - Stage 1 --ALERT! A "MUST SEE" WARNING IN HERE
=================================================================
YAY! you got in pq. now first of all DON'T MOVE! read the following.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
READ THIS v
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
DO NOT! I MEAN DO NOT CLICK THE TOY SOLDIER THAT'S IN PQ! Clicking him will
make you exit pq. and just WHO would want that?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
READ THIS ^
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ok, lets begin. First of all, use whatever haste you have, booster, and a
warrior pill. Now go up the tower. Kill these ratz and dirty ratz around you.
You will notice, they are stronger, have more hp, and give more exp. Once all
the enemies are dead, all the party members should give all the passes to
the leader. Then arrange who will go to the next stage first (2 people) to
to tower's trap(see stage 2). Let's say this time, you and some guy are
selected to go.
5.2 - Stage 2
=================================================================
Here, you and another person have entered (see stage 1). Make your way slightly
lower to the 2nd blue box from the top. Break that one. You will be sent to
"Tower's Trap". There, give an ok to go to your members through party chat.
Head up the tower and break the boxes to get the passes. Head out and give the
passes to your leader. Here your leader will click on the baloons and open the
portal to the next stage, enter it.
=================================================================
5.3 - Stage 3
=================================================================
This time you start near the middle of the map. First haste your members and
either head up or down. Up will require about 2 people. The bottom will require
3-4 people. Break the boxes to summon 3 bloctopus. Kill them to obtain tickets.
The top part will have about 3-4 of them per floor, while the bottom will have
at the very bottom, 9 of them (sins arent good with big mobs). After all of the
enemies have been eliminated, give the passes to your leader. Then the leader
clicks on the baloons to open the portal to the next stage, go in.
5.4 - Stage 4
=================================================================
Here, there are 5 portals. EXCLUDING the VERY top and VERY bottom. the top 3
portals are for a mage to do. Those monsters in there ae weak to magic but darn
strong to....everything else These monsters have sorta sad eyes. The bottom 2
portals are resistant to magic, but physically are weak. These monsters have
sorta mad eyes. The 4th portal has 2 monsters. This means there are 6 passes
in total. Give your pass or passes to the leader and contine to the next
stage when the portal opens.
5.5 - Stage 5 --ALERT! A "MUST SEE" WARNING IN HERE
=================================================================
Here is one of the places where being a sin is critical to doing a PQ. First
of all, haste your party members, then head near the rope you see right when
you start.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
READ THIS v
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
DO NOT GO DOWN THIS ROPE YET! Those down there are no ordinary king block
golems. They are indestructible, doing a damage of OVER 7000! NOT A TYPO!
First, go into dark sight and then go down. enter the portal you see.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
READ THIS ^
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You have entered "tower's Maze". Here, you will find several floors, each
containing a few king block golems. The only way to make it through is with
dark sight. Use dark sight to dodge the golems and then reach the safe floor.
Break the box and collect the passes. Then go in dark sight again and head
up past the golems. Repeat this process until you are at the top and have the
last pass. You should finish with 4 passes. Head out the portal on top and
dark sight past the beginning golems. then head safely near the baloons and
give your passes to your leader. The leader will then click on the baloons
and open the portal to the next stage.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Amazing tip:

when a cleric or 2 manage to jump down off the rope to get to the platform
below, and an hp-pure page/fighter with maxed power guard stays on the rope
just below the king block gollems, having the clerics spam heal him, he can
touch the King block gollems to death, killing them with his Power Guard.

-hb would help too, and a pure hp fighter would do best, they have more hp

thanks for the tip michael

a never-changing combination. Go on top of the box with a number and
press up to use the box. The code for them is...

Once up top, just enter the portal and head to stage 7

=================================================================
5.7 - Stage 7

=================================================================

(haste + booster recommended)
More monsters await in stage 7. Head up the rope you see to the left. From that
spot, slowly turn right to the tip and kill the first ratz there. Then head up
and be ready to kill the dirty ratz that is there. Once the party has killed
the first rombard kill the dirty ratz. Then head to the third floor. When
the party finishes off the 2nd rombard, kill the bloctopus to spawn the 3rd
and final rombard. As soon as the bloctopus dies, head quickly down to the
bottom of the map and help kill the rombard. Jump attack to avoid the magic
attack. Beware, rombard summons block golems when it is weak. After all passes
are obtained by the leader, he/she clicks the baloon to enter the next stage.

5.8 - Stage 8

=================================================================

This is the final main stage. Very similar to Kerning PQ's 4th stage. The
difference is this puzzle needs 5 people to complete. Snowshoes are recommended
for this stage, especially if you are number 4 or 5. Jumping is pretty tricky
here and you will need to learn how to pwn this stage by experience. The boxes
are aligned like this

45679, 45689, 45789, 46789, 56789.

Yes I know what you must be thinking. That there are SO MUCH
combinations, but when you play through it, it takes less than it looks like.

this is how its done if you dont already know.
people get on 1/2/3/4/5

the person on 5 moves to 6

then he/she moves to 7, and so on.

once he/she has reached to 9 and the combination was invalid, the "#4 person"
moves to 5, and the last person moves to 6

once you're down to 1/2/3/8/9, the #3 goes to 4, the 8 goes to 5, and the
9 goes to 6, making it 1/2/4/5/6.

the pattern continues. once its down to 1/2/7/8/9, the #2 goes to 3.
This is complicated to read & learn and must be personally seen/done.

Once you get the right combination, the portal to the boss stage will open.
Enter it.

=================================================================
5.9 - Crack In The Wall (Boss)

=================================================================

This is the "hardest" part of Ludi PQ, the boss, Alishar. Before you do
anything, make sure you are ready, then kill the dirty ratz that is in the
platform whree the box is. Let the pass fall on the box and Alishar will be
summoned. Make sure you are hasted, have booster, used a warrior pill/pot, and
a sniper pill if you are below level 40 just incase. When it has been summoned
nonstop jump attack with lucky seven. Do a back attack when it goes near you
will be out of its magic attack range. As it is weakened, it will summon
chronos, then platooon chronos, then master chronos. Keep attacking alishar
and use cure pots when you are cursed. I don't recommend all cure pots, for
that is a waste. Instead, in path of time, buy holy waters and eyedrops.
When Alishar dies, let your leader get the keys he drops. Then he/she will
talk to the baloon and be sent to bonus stage.

A quick tip sent by a reader:

Stand on the ledge where the NPC baloon is and attack from there nonstop.
He also noted, Do not count on a cleric for heal. ALWAYS have pots with
you. A cleric can get cursed, and if he/she uses magic guard, his/her
MP will run out very quickly.

-I agree with the cleric part. I personally think most clerics run away
from Alishar when he gets close. I've never depended on a cleric and
always used pots i get from determine stage.

and another:

Put cure potions on quickslot or a slot where its NEAR YOUR ATTACK SKILL
SLOT. Thats saves time.
like I put Lucky Seven on X, put it on c. hav it
near the button. bring at least the amount of pots for LV4X.
100 White potions
150 mana pills.
Aviod attacking chronos by all means of jump shoting. They are pretty
annonying even you stand the top part where the sin shoots star for the rat.
700 Damage and 150 damage extra?

-o_O most global players have different key sets than u msea guys. and using
cure pots so quickly is not so urgent, because u almost never get cursed.
I'd say the best way to defeat alishar IS jump attack but its backwards
jump attack specifically. It's pretty complicated but assassin players
should understand...When u do a jump atk(backwards) wait until the peak
of the jump to attack (with booster of course) this is the technique used
to attack tall monsters in a mob or the farthest away in a mob. this will
probably leave u not being able to move for half a second on the ground
but since its a BACKWARDS jump attack it keeps you out of the enemy's
attack range.
